(The segment is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wpr.org\/book\/100221a.cfm\">here<\/a>. I start at the 16:29 mark.)<\/p>\n<p>At the risk of being repetitive, not to mention braggy, I thought I&#8217;d re-post some of the reviews of the book, for those who have just arrived at the party.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s<a href=\"http:\/\/www.publishersweekly.com\/article\/CA6610357.html\"> Publishers Weekly<\/a> calling it one of the Best Books of 2008 (somewhat\u00a0 strangely, as the book came out in January, 2009). Here\u2019s some hearty meat-and-potatoes from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/arts\/article\/0,8599,1869319,00.html\">Time magazine\u2019s website<\/a>, and a steaming bowl of bouilliabaise from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/templates\/story\/story.php?storyId=100587126\">NPR\u2019s Book We Like<\/a>. Laura Miller\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salon.com\/books\/review\/2009\/01\/23\/aging\/\">Salon.com<\/a> piece makes most other reviews seem like book reports by comparison. The Vanity Fair review isn&#8217;t online but you can get a taste <a href=\"https:\/\/henryalford.com\/?page_id=6\">here<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/2009\/jan\/27\/entertainment\/et-book27\">Los Angeles Times<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/id\/178874\">Newsweek<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timeout.com\/newyork\/articles\/books\/70172\/old-joy\">Time Out New York<\/a>\u2013you are <em>all <\/em>my children. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/lifeandstyle\/2009\/feb\/14\/elderly-people-health-wellbeing\">The Guardian<\/a> spells \u201cmarvellous\u201d with two l\u2019s\u2013you\u2019ll want to roll that second \u201cl\u201d as if your tongue were cradling a lychee or stray eyeball.
