A friend was saying how much she loved your recent NYT hipster article and I said, Well, you haven’t lived til you’ve read his article on how he tried to pass as a dog groomer for some certification… Where would I find that article? Is it only available in a book? I’d love to send it to my friend to dazzle her further w/ your wit…

Hope you’re well!

By Henry Alford on Aug 19, 2013
I am married to an Alford and have been a fan even before said marriage. I recall a column Henry Alford wrote regarding the pronunciation of his surname. All or Al preceding the “ford”. Is there a copy of it somewhere that I can show my husband, Michael Alford?

Hello, I’m looking for an article by Henry Alford called „A comedy of manors“ (sic) published in the US edition of GQ, 1994, Vol 64(3), p.252.
It would be great if anyone could send me a scanned copy.
