Francine Prose blurb! First review!

My book about Joni Mitchell, “I Dream of Joni,” which is coming out from Gallery Books on January 21, 2025, has recently received two totally lovely endorsements. The great Francine Prose, one of the rare writers who is equally adept at fiction (“Blue Angel,” “Household Saints”) and non-fiction (the terrific new “1974: A Personal History,” the classic “Reading Like a Writer”) said, “The greatest Joni Mitchell book ever! Witty, gossipy, smart, it hits the perfect notes of understanding and respect for the music.” I am thrilled and honored. Meanwhile, the first review of “I Dream of Joni” is from Kirkus Reviews, which called “This stylish consideration of the folk-rock-jazz-legend by magazine veteran Alford” both “thoughtful and informed,” and said it’s a “heartfelt reconsideration of an iconic artist.”
